Every other year, several thousand ocean scientists gather at oceanography’s biggest meeting to exchange ideas, data and results over a period of several days. Next week is just such a time and I am very pleased that I will be joining them in Honolulu for the 2014 Ocean Sciences Meeting. I look forward to catching up with many friends and colleagues as well as hear about the latest results and discoveries in the myriad areas of research on the ocean. Ocean Leadership will be exhibiting at the conference so please stop by booth number 34E and say hello to everyone. At these meetings our booths are always a buzz. We are also contributing to a number of sessions, workshops, town hall meetings and other activities throughout the week. On Monday morning, I will be speaking at the Mentor/Mentoree Breakfast, an activity that I always enjoy and feel is extremely important as we strive to cultivate the next generation of ocean leaders. If you are attending next week’s meeting, safe travels and I look forward to seeing you in warmer weather, finally!
